STRANGER THINGS X MCDONALD’S
INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN

The challenge was to define McDonald’s role in the final battle of Stranger Things. As a brand, McDonald’s represents a bubble of happiness shared with friends — a familiar place where joy and connection live. In the world of Stranger Things, that bubble has disappeared in Hawkins, and a group of kids fight to recover it through the power of friendship. Friendship became the shared territory between both worlds.

Stronger Together. We turned friendship into the ultimate weapon for the final battle. McDonald’s became both the place and the tools to help recover that lost bubble of happiness, transforming its iconic menu items into allies within the Stranger Things universe and positioning friendship as the force capable of restoring what was lost.

The campaign unfolded in two phases. First, an arcade-style game allowed fans to train for the final battle using the characters from their McDonald’s menu, supported by a hero spot introducing the narrative.

The second phase activated a geolocated experience across Spain, inviting fans to close rifts spread throughout the country and unlock rewards, bringing the idea into the real world.
